Ksirokampos has quiet and remarkable beaches which the visitor may use undisturbed. On the southern part of the island, 7klm from St. Marina the visitor meets a small seaside settlement, in front of which spreads the gulf of Ksirokampos with the small islets Glaronisia sealing its entrance, and accross in a distance of 1 nautical mile is Kalimnos Island.
Ksirokampos houses are spread in a small valley, planted with olive trees, cypress trees, almont trees and many flowers. Deep the landscape is rising and on the top of the hill (70m height) lies the Paliokastro or Castle of Lepidon, older than the Castle of Panteli. It is built over the ruins of the ancient Acropolis which is dated at 2.500 b.c. and was prospering during the 4th b.c. century. Today, the ruins of its walls still exist, as well as the remains of the old christian temple (basilica). Between the ruins lies the graphical little church of St. Mary (Panagia).
Near Ksilokampos lies the graphical little church of St. Mary the Kavourdena, which is considered one of the most beautiful on the island. It is built on the rocks of the bay, in a position that accoring to the tradition, a fisherman was looking for crabs, and found in the rocks the icon of St. Mary.

In the sandy beach you can enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters. You may also do free diving or scuba diving, there is a scuba diving school operating in the area.
The bay of Ksirokampos is used from professional or amateur fishermen and has good tourist infrastructure. There are quite a few restaurants on the bay.
